The Quatuor Psophos, former BBC New Generation Artists, perform a French-themed programme with a trio of quartets by Parisian composers. Dutilleux’s Everest of the 20th century repertoire Ainsi la nuit is paired with Debussy’s luxuriantly expressive String Quartet which deeply influenced Dutilleux, and a near forgotten rarity, the Beethoven-inspired quartet of the young Guillaume Lekeu.
